Hot-rolled steel is the most commonly used flat steel. They are used in multiple applications, starting with General engineering, Automotive load bodies, Pipes and tubes, Pressure vessels, etc. They are available in thicknesses ranging from 1.20 mm to 100 mm and a maximum width of 2000 mm. The term ‘HR Plates’ is interchangeably used for materials ranging above 25 mm in thickness. Hot-rolled steels are available in sheet and coil forms.
