NMDC

NMDC Limited is a government owned corporation of Government of India and was established in 1958. The company, which is mainly involved in exploration and production of iron ore, is based in Hyderabad. It does have a number of mechanized mines such as Bailadila Iron Ore Mines in Chhattisgarh. Besides mining, NMDC has expanded to steel production as its subsidiary, NMDC Steel Limited, which also has a steel plant in Nagarnar, Chhattisgarh. The company also mines diamonds in Panna and Madhya Pradesh.
